The term of the current board is coming to an end. Therefore, from 2025 onwards, we are looking for a new head of the board and treasurer who, after a warm handover, will take over from the current board members. In the course of 2025 we would also like to welcome a new secretary. Do you have a great passion for film and the cultural sector and would you like to act as a sounding board for a committed film organisation from Tilburg? Then we are looking for you!
Board
The foundation's board bears the ultimate responsibility for Pop Up Cinema and delegates the preparation and implementation of artistic and business policies to the artistic and business director of the foundation. The board oversees the director's policies, the achievement of the foundation's goals and activities, and the overall affairs of the foundation. The board responsibly fulfills its duties by adhering to relevant laws and regulations, the Governance Code for Culture, the Code for Cultural Diversity and Inclusion, and the Fair Practice Code. The board also acts as an advisor and sparring partner for the artistic and business director.
Head of the board
As head of the board, you coordinate the board's activities and guide the foundation. We are looking for someone who is involved, critically follows strategic and artistic decisions, and represents the foundation's interests with stakeholders such as funds, provinces, or municipalities. You are the first point of contact and sparring partner for the director, and together you prepare the board meetings. For this role, we seek someone with experience and/or knowledge of policy. Political sensitivity is a plus.
Treasurer
As treasurer of the board you oversee the finances, support the development of financial and business policies and advise the director where needed. You work with the director to keep the organisation financially healthy. The director is then responsible for drafting and implementing the foundation's financial policies and manages the budget and bank account. She also collaborates with an accountant.
Secretary
As secretary, you are responsible for taking notes during board meetings and creating meeting reports. You support the organisation, ensure smooth communication within the board, and keep important documents and information in a record.
What else you need to know
- The board meets four to five times a year. When circumstances require, some meetings may be held online.
- These roles are unpaid. However, a travel allowance is available.
- Expertise in diversity and inclusion and board experience are a plus.
- The start date for the head of the board and treasurer is January 2025. Secretary's start date is negotiable.
