For the last three Fridays of August and the first Friday of September, Pop Up Cinema will once again transform the courtyard of Theater De Nieuwe Vorst into a pop-up outdoor cinema.
Last year, these evenings were programmed with a new twist: we screened a short film by a young filmmaker as an appetizer. We asked these young directors: which feature film would you program alongside your work and why?
We're doing the same thing this summer. We are teaming up with young talent to curate the perfect lineup for four evenings of film in August and September. Have you made a short film of up to 20 minutes and want to reach a broad audience? Then we're looking for you.
The selected filmmaker will have the opportunity to present their work as a preview for the evening's feature film. Not only that, we will also brainstorm together about which feature film complements the short. What is a relevant theme in your film? Which director or genre inspired you? Which film resonates with your work? Or is there a film that everyone should see for another reason?
Here's what you need to know:
- Your film should be a maximum of 20 minutes long
- The film must have subtitles
- You should have a good idea for a theme or genre for the evening/the films. The selection will be based on your work and vision. We will then program the main full-length film together.
- You will receive a fee of €150 for the screening of your film and your contribution to the program.
- The screenings will take place on the last three Fridays of August and the first Friday of September at Theater De Nieuwe Vorst in Tilburg.
- You must be present on the day of the event.
